Technical Staffing Services – Finding the right people for Chevron
SGS Technical Staffing Services has been providing technical staffing services to Chevron since 2002, ensuring that specialized contract technical staff are assigned on a trans-national basis in accordance with project schedule requirements. SGS managed the completion of all logistics, including: flights, visas, work permits, meet & greet services, accommodation, transportation and family welfare link. SGS ensured that all contractors attended pre-mobilization inductions, HES inductions and training prior to assignment.
Over 100 qualified technical contract workers were assigned on the Chevron project sites in Korea, Japan, USA, Angola, Congo, Gabon, Argentina, UAE, Nigeria and various locations across Europe. All SGS Technical Staffing Recruiting Services contractors had been assigned through the local SGS companies to ensure a fully tax compliant solution for Chevron.
Chevron’s need for specialized technical workers, such as QA/QC Inspectors, HES Personnel, Design Review, Commissioning, Planning, QS and office personnel were recruited by TSS from Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, India, UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Venezuela, France, Holland and Trinidad & Tobago.
The TSS team members were able to rapidly and successfully match Chevron’s project, inspection, fabrication, installation and commissioning needs with suitably qualified technical man power.
The first TSS Inspection contract with Chevron, in Angolan areas B&C, block 0, Sanha Condensate project was executed 2002-2005. TSS was able, via their database, to provide more than 200,000 man-hours during fabrication, installation and commissioning of an offshore Oil and Gas Processing.
On successful completion of Sanha Condensate the Angolan Benguela Belize project was awarded, starting in 2003 and ending in 2006, was where TSS provided 143,000 man-hours of project inspection services, consisting of fabrication, installation and commissioning of a Compliant Tower in Block 14.
From 2007-2008, TSS is providing professional inspection services in the UAE for the conversion of a VLCC tanker to an FPSO, ultimately to be moored offshore Brazil for the Chevron Frade Development Project.
Chevron’s Tombua Landana Angolan project started in 2006 and is due for completion in 2009. It also utilizing SGS TSS for the Inspection, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the Compliant Tower, Block 14, Offshore Angola.
